Donald Eckhardt Orchards is a third generation family owned and operated peach orchard. We specialize in over 20 different varieties of peaches and five plums. We also carry vine-ripened tomatoes and blackberries. Otto Eckhardt established some of the first commercial Fredericksburg peach orchards in 1936 with an initial 35 acres with his sons. Continuing to grow the orchard business, his son Donald increased production to 150 acres within three orchards during the 1950s-1981. In 2001, Donald and his wife Carol retired, passing over the business to their daughters, Dianne and Debbie & Bo Cox. We are committed to providing our customers with only the freshest tree-ripened Fredericksburg peaches. We pick fresh daily! Our Fredericksburg peaches are known for their sweetness. We have a lot of minerals, such as salt, in our soil along with a good climate of cool nights and hot days. This combination is what makes our flavor so fabulous.
