Job Description
Looking for a nurse to work in a fast paced clinical setting for a family medicine provider.
Primary Responsibilities:
Room all patients during clinic.
Triage patients.
Assist the physician, as directed, with all procedures, examinations, and injections.
Manage, as directed, all physician correspondence, to include, but not be limited to, medication renewals and nursing home and home health orders.
Manage all new patient packets including entering pertinent historical data such as tobacco use, alcohol use, prior surgeries, and current medications.
Obtain, as directed, established patient medical records.
Check Prescription refill queue throughout the day and either approve or deny all requests by the end of the working day
Work with medical assistant to handle Nurse visits within 10 minutes of patient arrival
Document in patient chart any new orders, prescription refills, referral status, procedure prior auth status, medication precert status, and any pertinent information collected from patient during phone calls or nurse visits
Keep desk neat and organized at all times so if you are absent the person covering you can pick up where you left off and find any needed documents
Call patients with lab and procedure results as directed by your physician
Start IVs as ordered by your physician
Ensure provider exam rooms are stocked, sanitized, and organized
Administering Immunizations and injections
Performing flu test, strep test, and collect urine specimens as needed.
Secondary Responsibilities (When Staffing is short due to illness and vacation):
Cover for other Nurses or MAs when staffing is short, or your provider is out as assigned by clinical coordinator.
Assisting the MA with answering phone calls and following up on appointments.
Performing all other duties assigned by the physician or clinical coordinator.
